Director of Development
Jenni Fontana joined A. Smith & Co in 2016 from NBCUniversal’s Esquire Network. As Director of Development she is involved in conceptualizing and developing all genres of unscripted television for both A Smith & Co Entertainment and A Smith & Co DOX.
At Esquire Network, Jenni worked with both the Development and Current Production teams, overseeing scripted and unscripted projects. She collaborated with an extensive number of producers, agents and production companies on developing new concepts, formats and talent for network series, and contributed to internal new project development from concept to presentation to series production. Credits include Team Ninja Warrior, Uncorked, The Runner-Up (with Clay Aiken), Secret Sauce (with Steve Nash), Spotless, and Edge Hill.
Prior to development, Jenni worked at NBC and Esquire in Brand Creative Marketing where she served as creative producer for on-air, off-air, digital and branded content marketing in short and long form promotion, and was part of the team that led the creative rebrand and launch of Esquire Network.
Jenni’s career spans many facets of the entertainment business, having worked in film and television casting, as a stage director and producer, as well as being a film, TV, stage, and voiceover actor for many years. She hails from Chicago and attended Drake University and the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center.
