Johnny Galecki Science Channel, Johnny Galecki team for “SciJinks”

The Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki is teaming up with Science Channel for a new prank series set to utilize cutting-edge science as the foundation of each practical joke.

Produced by Galecki’s Alcide Bava Productions and A. Smith & Co. Productions, the tentatively titled SciJinks (8 x 30 minutes) will see the Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actor working alongside leading physicists, stem students and scientists to craft a series of stunts and pranks through unusual scientific discoveries.

SciJinks is scheduled to premiere in 4th quarter 2017.

Alcide Bava’s Galecki and Andrew Haas serve as executive producers alongside A. Smith & Co.’s Arthur Smith, Frank Sinton and Toby Gorman. Caroline Perez is executive producer for Science Channel.

“One of the most rewarding elements of being on The Big Bang Theory has been being approached by younger people who claim they never before had considered a life in the sciences until watching the show,” said Galecki in a statement. “SciJinks is a way to celebrate them and hopefully inspire more young people to follow in their footsteps — while having an absurdly good and mischievous time.”

“Johnny’s humor and talent have charmed millions of fans for years, myself included,” added Science Channel GM Marc Etkind. “We are so glad to reward his loyal fans with this fun and fascinating series that features mind-blowing science.”
