‘Profiled: The Black Man’ Trailer: Tina Knowles-Lawson Docuseries Aims To Debunk Stereotypes

Profiled: The Black Man Discovery+

Discovery+ and OWN Network released the trailer for the upcoming four-part docuseries, Profiled: The Black Man ahead of its Feb. 12 premiere. The remaining three episodes will also air subsequently on Discovery+ every following Saturday through March 5.

The Tina Knowles-Lawson executive produced project examines the origins of the widespread stereotypes that have permeated society and impacted the lives of Black men in America for centuries. Hosted by Tristan “Mack” Wilds, viewers can expect a mix of historical footage, real-life testimony, and commentary from notable community members such as Knowles-Lawson, DeRay Mckesson, Tamika Mallory, Sway Calloway, Billy Porter, and more.

Each week, the episode will debunk stereotypes about Black men. The schedule is as follows.

Episode 1 – “Black Men Are Dangerous” – Premieres Saturday, February 12
Episode 2 – “Black Men Are Absent Fathers”- Premieres Saturday, February 19
Episode 3 – “Black Men Devalue Black Women” – Premieres Saturday, February 26
Episode 4 – “Black Men Don’t Cry” – Premieres Saturday, March 5
